The opening of the first branch of the renowned Centre Georges Pompidou in Latin America, in Foz do Iguaçu, begins with the connection between artists and the Iguaçu community and the teams from the International Museum of Art and the city's Cultural Foundation.

Next Tuesday, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, at the Haroldo Alvarenga Cultural Station in the city center, the first initiative to establish this connection will take place: the 1st Dialogue with Society.

The goal is to promote dialogue, the exchange of experiences, and discuss the functions of a museum and the possible uses of a cultural space. "This meeting will mark the beginning of an agenda to engage the Foz do Iguaçu community with the installation of the Pompidou Museum in the city, aiming for the city's citizens and artists to feel part of this project, which represents a major step forward for culture and tourism," stated Dalmont Benites, CEO of the Cultural Foundation.

Two Contemporary Practices Seminars are also scheduled for May 21st and 22nd, featuring workshops on developing cultural projects with Priscila de Morais, Audience Development Coordinator at the Foz do Iguaçu International Art Museum.

For Mayor General Silva e Luna, "having such a renowned cultural facility here, like the Foz do Iguaçu International Museum, will undoubtedly create an inspiring atmosphere for the creation of other museums in the city."

According to Luciana Casagrande Pereira, State Secretary of Culture, "it is extremely important to create this synergy between the institution and the people of Iguaçu, who will feel a sense of belonging to the historical and cultural context of the International Museum."

Dalmont emphasizes that the entire community is welcome to participate in this outreach program: students, teachers, artists, and all interested individuals.

About the Foz do Iguaçu International Art Museum

The initiative to establish an internationally renowned museum in Foz do Iguaçu came from the Paraná State Government, which considers the project a landmark for the state's culture and tourism. The space, which will be built on a 24,000-square-meter plot of land provided by CCR Aeroportos, will be located approximately 10 minutes from Iguaçu National Park, blending seamlessly with the region's natural landscape.

Architect Solano Benítez, who previously won the Golden Lion at the Venice Architecture Biennale, was chosen to design the space for his in-depth knowledge of the region and his innovative approach. He believes the museum's design will emphasize local materials and sustainable construction techniques.
