Route: Divided into two parts - The first part involves a special tour vehicle. After boarding at the Visitor Reception Center, the group heads toward the Bela Vista Biological Refuge, passing through the ITAIPU Binational Security Area's Control Barrier and along the shores of the Piracema Park resting lake. Along the way, visitors can see areas of reforested forest, areas reserved for the ITAIPU Transmission Towers, and the back of the ITAIPU C Neighborhood.
The second part involves a 2km walk, where visitors participate in a native tree planting activity, visit the Refuge's small gate on the shores of the ITAIPU Lake, and pass by the Zoo, which has more than 15 enclosures.
Note:
- Because this is an environmental conservation unit, some sections of the trail are on terrain where conditions are not recommended for wheelchairs, strollers, and other vehicles. - The tour does NOT include a visit to the Itaipu Dam. The tour is exclusive to the Bela Vista Biological Refuge, located inside the Itaipu Dam.
Duration: Approximately 2.5 hours, of which approximately 30 minutes are spent driving and approximately 2 hours of light walking.
Content: The tour includes explanations about IB's environmental initiatives, with a stop to plant a native tree that will be used to reforest the lakeshore, and a walk through the zoo, which features native Atlantic Forest species.
Note: Some animals may not be visible during the visit due to enclosure maintenance, veterinary care, and weather conditions.
